Menstrual Somatics
Melany Birdsong is a somatic practitioner, menstrual health educator, and creator of the Menstrual Somatics Method — a body-based, transpersonal approach to menstrual and menopausal wellbeing. Rooted in lived experience, contemporary research, and her training in Holistic Pelvic Care and Somatic Experiencing, Melany’s work supports women in reclaiming bodily autonomy and awakening their innate cyclical wisdom. At its core, Menstrual Somatics honors the body’s intelligence and capacity to heal. Rather than managing or suppressing so-called symptoms, this approach invites the nervous system into gentle regulation and the body into real, lasting integration. Pain, disruption, and imbalance are understood as meaningful signals — doorways into deeper listening, release, and alchemy. Through trauma-informed somatic practices, guided awareness, movement medicine, and cyclical tracking tools, underlying patterns are met and brought toward completion to support embodied change from the root. Melany understands menstrual and menopausal thresholds as initiatory passages within a woman’s life — places where old patterns come forward to be witnessed, metabolized, and transformed in community and with care. Her work holds space for resilience, clarity, agency, and embodied power to emerge in ways that feel authentic and nourishing. She offers 1:1 somatic mentorship, group programs, workshops, and ceremonial experiences that weave embodied practice with shared connection. With a heart for mutual belonging, Melany welcomes women from every phase of life — from the first bleed through perimenopause and menopause — into shared exploration, healing, and reconnection with their bodies’ wisdom. Melany invites you into relationship with your cycles, your body, and the rhythms of your life — and into a deeper experience of belonging with yourself and the women around you.
