BeHold Life Packs: Weaving the Living Thread

I am a weaver and a teacher devoted to ancestral skill as living practice. Basket weaving is not a hobby to me — it is an ancestral bridge. Across cultures, across continents, our ancestors wove. They wove to gather food, to carry tools, to protect medicine, to harvest, to trade, to tend families, to survive. The basket was never decorative alone — it was purposeful, essential, intimate.

Through BeHold Life Packs, I carry forward Adirondack-style pack basket weaving as a functional art form rooted in endurance and beauty. These baskets are designed to carry weight. They are meant to move through forests, markets, homesteads, and modern lives. They are as practical as they are poetic.

But the deeper work is this:

When we weave, we are not just bending reed and shaping wood. We are weaving story. We are remembering that our hands know how to make what sustains us. We are reconnecting to the quiet dignity of craft.

I call this The Living Thread — the unbroken line of skill, memory, and belonging that runs through all of our lineages.

My workshops are immersive, relational, and embodied. Participants leave with a finished pack basket — but also with a renewed relationship to patience, rhythm, and the wisdom of their own hands.
